The Best Outdoor Restaurants in Downtown Greenville
As I am sitting in my office wrapped in a sweater and drinking a hot tea, it’s easy for me to dream of warm spring afternoons with friends, people (and doggie) watching while enjoying any number of delicious offerings Greenville has for me. So this seems like a great time to mention some (because I certainly couldn’t mention them all!) of our favorite outdoor dining in Downtown.
1) Pomegranate On Main This Persian restaurant has been a staple for years bringing guests back time and again. Lamb, rice, hummus, evenings with half-priced bottles of wine, and live music on Wednesdays. All are located across from Falls Park.
2) Passerelle Bistro overlooking the Reedy River Falls and the Liberty Bridge . Worth the wait in line for the Croque Monsieur, Bistro Burger, or their French Toast Monte Cristo with Brie and Blueberry Lavender Jam!
3) Trattoria Giorgio Pappardelle Bolognese served in a private garden courtyard with wine and crusty bread is only a portion of what awaits you at this fine Italian Main St. restaurant.
4) Yee-Haw Brewing Company Just a few blocks away with shaded seating, outdoor beer garden, Jumbotron & Giant TVs, fire pit & games along with Prince’s Hot Chicken, Yee-Haw beers, and a full menu.
5) Stir is new to this list but certainly a rising star! While there is an emphasis on the seafood and craft cocktails, the Chicken Piccata is a popular favorite. Not to mention the service gets consistent 5 star reviews. They also have plenty of outside seating.
6) Sassafras Southern Bistro located in One City Plaza, voted Best Southern Restaurant in Greenville’s Best Readers 2025 Choice Awards has tables under their canopy for you not only to enjoy the delicious food and drinks, but also be a regular spot for street musicians.
7) Gather GVL is all about outdoor dining. This casual covered food hall has 15 different venues to choose from. BBQ to Lobster, Pizza to sushi, and Beer to Frozen sangria! There is a reason this has been voted one of the top food halls in the country for the 3rd year in a row.
8) Maestro Bistro & Dinner Club features Argentinean cooking and is a beautiful place to enjoy fine dining outdoors. From pecan crusted lamb to fresh shrimp scampi to anything from their wine list, you will be spoiled.
9) Larkin’s is known for rich flavorful steaks with dining available both inside and out. Don’t forget to try overlook their cocktail menu or Crack Pie on the dessert list either!
10) Between The Trees at The Grand Bohemian offers a spectacular view of Falls Park while serving up delicious fare including a Chilean Sea Bass with Chorizo and (my favorite!) Beurre Blanc.
This list was so hard to make! Luckily, Visit Greenville has made a list of all the outdoor and roof top dining in the area including the Swamp Rabbit Cafe right on the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
