Swamp Rabbit Trail

(as close as a few blocks)
A former rail line, the Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 13.55 mile walking/biking trail that runs along the Reedy River connecting Travelers Rest with the City of Greenville.  Blissfully flat and closed to cars, this trail passes through both Cleveland Park and Falls Park, has scenic views of the Reedy River, and takes a quaint meander around Furman Lake.  Be sure to check out Alley Kat's Waterin' Hole run by 6-year-old Madeline who donates all proceeds to the Shriner's Hospital (where she is also a patient).
Rent a bicycle, helmet, bag, and lock from Reedy Rides for only $15 for a half day.

Bicycling

(varies)
In the March 2011 issue of Southern Living, Greenville resident and star cyclist George Hincapie shares his favorite cycling routes in and around the city. Hincapie is the only cyclist to represent the U.S. in five Olympic Games and the only cyclist in history to be on eight Tour de France winning teams.
