WEEK 1

November 1:  Greenville History Tours and Table 301 have partnered to offer the first culinary tours in Upstate, SC. At the Chef’s Table Culinary Tour is an exciting dining and cultural experience that takes you to five destinations—each with the opportunity to meet the chefs and dine at their tables. Highlights include a cooking demo, kitchen visit, and more.  Tuesdays 6 - 9 pm and Saturdays 1:30 - 4:30 pm.  See link for reservations.  

 

November 1 - 6:  Discover the magic all over again with Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan at the Peace Center.  Various performance times.

 

 

November 2 - 5:  Spend the evening at Cafe and Thensome, Greenville's only dinner theater for an evening of good food and plenty of laughs.   Join your favorite redneck thespians each week Wednesdays - Saturdays. Dinner seating starts at 6:30 pm with the show at 8:30 pm.   

 

November 3 - 4:  Lamplight and Shadow: A Tour Through Edgar Allen Poe brings the works of Edgar Allan Poe to life as the audience is taken on a journey through Poe's imagery, with actors performing some of his greatest scenes and passages. 10 am and 12 pm in the Gunter Theatre at the Peace Center.

 

November 3 - 4:  Come check out minor league hockey as the Greenville Road Warriors take on the Toledo Walleye at the Bi-Lo Center.  

 

November 3 - 6:  Hume Cronyn & Susan Cooper’s beautiful play, Foxfire, is the homespun story of an elderly couple in the Appalachian Mountains (near Greenville) and features live bluegrass music. The battle between real estate development and heritage takes the audience on a funny, touching and magical journey.  8 pm nightly with Sunday matinees at 3 pm at the Greenville Little Theatre.

 

November 4:  The first Friday of each month 29 art galleries and venues will be offering local, regional and national talents with First Fridays. A wide range of media will be represented: oils, watercolors, acrylics, pottery, jewelry, glassworks, woodworks, photography, and mixed media. Step out and support our thriving arts community.

 

November 5 - 6:  Greenville-area artists open their studios during this annual weekend for the visual arts, Greenville Open Studios

 

November 5:  Come check out minor league hockey as the Greenville Road Warriors take on the Florida Everblades at the Bi-Lo Center.  

 

November 5:  Fall means football and it's time to cheer on the Paladins of Furman University as they take on Appalachian State!

 

November 5 - 6:  Adapted from the traditional Southern folktale, Wiley takes a journey to outsmart the terrible Hairy Man and realizes his greatest potential in Wiley and the Hairy Man! This is a great rhyming story that teaches children to face their fears and overcome difficulties at the SC Children's Theatre.  Various performance times.

 

WEEK 2

 

November 7 - 8:  The Griffin Theatre Company Production's Letters Home puts the current ward in Afghanistan & Iraq front and center by bringing to life actual letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East.  10 am and 12 pm in the Gunter Theatre at the Peace Center.

November 10:  One of Lincoln Center's resident choirs, Schola Cantorum de Venezuela is known for robust, joyous performances. Now, they'll perform Acqua and Fiesta, with the thunderous masterpiece "Cloudburst," by Eric Whitacre.  7:30 pm at the Peace Center.

November 11:  An evening of Broadway, from Gershwin to Sondheim, with Audra McDonald, the winner of four Tony Awards and star of TV's Private Practice.  8 pm at the Peace Center.

 

November 11 - 12:  Come check out minor league hockey as the Greenville Road Warriors take on the South Carolina Stingrays at the Bi-Lo Center.  

 

November 11:  Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band come to the Bi-Lo Center for an evening concert!

November 12:  John Boyonaski, author of High School Football in South Carolina: Palmetto Pigskin History, focuses on the passion, drama, and excitement of varsity football in Mud, Sweat, and Cheers at the Upcountry History Museum.  11 am

 

November 12:  Beauty abounds in this carnival of song as the Greenville Symphony Orchestra  presents Carnival of Beauty as part of its Spotlight Series.  An homage to Beethoven, Schubert's Auf dem Strom is an elegy to lost love.  D'Indy's Chanson contains reminiscences of Wager, brilliantly paired with his joyful, folk-inspired Danses.  Faure's blithe and energetic Quartet, complete with its fervent Adagio, makes a perfect conclusion to this lovely evening. 2 pm and 7 pm at the Peace Center

WEEK 3

 

November 14 - 15:  Part of The American Place Theatre's Literature to Life Series, this performance is a verbatim theatrical adaption of the best-selling American novel, The Secret Life of Bees by author Sue Monk Kidd.  9:50 am and 12 pm in the Gunter Theatre at the Peace Center.

November 18 - 20:  As part of its Chamber Orchestra Series, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra presents Jewels of Mozart, a quartet of pieces, from both his adolescent and adult years, showcases the wild brilliance that is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.  Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 3 pm at the Peace Center.

November 23 - 27:  Young Zoé is bored; her parents, distant and apathetic, ignore her. Her life has lost all meaning. Seeking to fill the void of her existence, she slides into an imaginary world—the world of Quidam — where she meets characters who encourage her to free her soul. Cirque du Soleil - Quidam is a performance you don't want to miss at the Bi-Lo Center.
