The inn is a half mile walk to the heart of Main Street to enjoy the charm of the turn-of-the-century downtown area with its canopy of trees, shaded benches, and Falls Park on the Reedy River. Enjoy the endless entertainment, shopping, and dining downtown has to offer. With over 100 restaurants within 2 miles of the house, you are sure to find just what your taste buds are craving.  Downtown offers everything from Refined Seasonal Cuisine and New South Favorites to Mediterranean Tapas and Local Brew Pubs to Persian, Mexican, and Thai! Entertainment

Downtown is home to the Peace Center for Performing Arts, the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, and six other theaters and performance venues.  Downtown also boasts minor league baseball at Fluor Field and minor league hockey at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, several art and history museums, and free outdoor entertainment and festivals from the spring through the fall.  The inn is also a short drive from Furman and Bob Jones Universities, as well as easy driving distance to Clemson University.

Reedy Rides has rentals available 7 days a week, and with plenty of trails and parks, shops, and restaurants, this is the best way to explore downtown Greenville and the Swamp Rabbit Trail (see below for more info on the trail).

Strap on your helmet and take off on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, 17 miles of revitalized railway following the Reedy River.  From downtown, the easy 10-mile route to Travelers Rest is flat and gentle, perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike.  In less than an hour, you’ll be spinning your way around beautiful Furman Lake and the university campus.  In 20 more minutes you’re in downtown Travelers Rest ready to enjoy lunch at Hare & Field, or Farmhouse Tacos or shopping at Sunrift Adventures.  The round trip is the perfect half-day adventure and a great way to explore the area.  Half-day, full-day, and weekend rates available.

Swamp Rabbit Trail
A former rail line, the Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 17-mile walking/biking trail that runs along the Reedy River connecting Travelers Rest with the City of Greenville.  Blissfully flat and closed to cars, this trail passes through both Cleveland Park and Falls Park, has scenic views of the Reedy River, and takes a quaint meander around Furman Lake.

Directions to Furman University From the front of the house (Pettigru St.) or from the parking lot, turn right on Williams St.  Turn left at the traffic light onto E. North St.  Continue for 1 mile and turn right on US 276 N/Rutherford St.  Follow for 7 miles and the campus entrance will be an exit ramp on your right.  (The campus itself is on the left side of the road.
