November Innside Scoop of Fun Things to do in Greenville SC

Cozy Couples Romantic Getaway.

Before the hectic holiday season gets in full gear and as the temperature turns to that iconic sweater weather, more so in the evening for this area, it’s the perfect opportunity for a cozy and romantic getaway.  Greenville has varied and fun activities for couples whether they are birds-of-a-feather or opposites-attract.  We love talking to our guests and helping to point them to a great experience together.

For our outdoories duos SC’s upstate is overrun with natural beauty.  From riding the Swamp Rabbit Trail on your favorite bike from home or an electric rental, to seeking anyForest with high waterfall and wooden bridge number of waterfalls, or hiking Table Rock, Pinnacle Peak, or Sassafras Mountain.   You can pack a lunch and see the migrating birds a Caesar’s Head.  Explore the South Carolina Botanical Gardens at Clemson University before enjoying some time at Lake Hartwell.  Speaking of lakes we cannot forget Jocassee!  Head to Devil’s Fork State Park to enjoy a Pontoon tour where you will see wildlife, waterfalls, and some of the clearest lake water in the country (you’re even welcome to go scuba diving!)

If sports are your love language, you won’t get bored!  You can cheer on The Greenville Drive at Fluor Field, either soccer team Liberty or Triumph, or stay warm at a Swamp Rabbit Hockey game.  Joining in the action is welcome on our local golf courses, numerous pickleball courts, ziplining at Flying Rabbit Adventures, and well-maintained parks in the area with room to toss a ball, play tennis and basketball, or enjoy disc golf.

Now if you are interested in more of a metropolitan experience, you can hold hands while strolling Greenville’s Downtown area.  Clean & well-lit streets, plenty of shopping, and restaurants.  After a delicious dinner you can take in a show at the Peace Center, Warehouse Theater, Center Stage, or The Greenville Theater.  Live music can usually be found at various locations on Main Street, as well as Smiley’s on the Roxx, Blues Boulevard, Jack & Dianes, and the Foundry.  All that is before we talk about all the big names that come to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.  Venturing a little outside Greenville brings you even more options like the CCNB Amphitheater in Simpsonville or the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium.

If the idea of complete relaxation and pampering is what you two are looking for, the hardest part will be deciding where to start!  Drift Float & Spa offers flotation tanks and light therapy.  River Spa has multiple massages and body wraps to choose from. Stretching your way to a calm visit can be had with Yoga at Southern Om West End.  Swing by M. Judson Booksellers for a little quiet reading in our garden or at Falls Park.  Or you could enjoy it as you sip a glass (or pick a bottle) of wine at Wine House.

For those couples with a creative spirit you could try candle making, sip & paint classes, jewelry making, mosaic classes, pressed flowers, and any number of seasonal DIY workshops.  To appreciate the work of others you can follow the Greenville Self-Guided art tour for a view of the multiple sculptures, murals, and designs that make this city unique.  There are plenty of local artists selling in the area as well in the Pendelton Art District, Christopher Park Gallery, and the Art Crossing at River Place to name a few.  There are open gallery nights on the first Friday of the Month, a selection of indie craft fairs, and plenty of holiday markets throughout the year as well.

Did you fall in love over food?  Two hundred restaurants in the city of Greenville (1000 in the county!)  You can certainly eat your way on (and off) Main Street with southern specialties like Sassafras and Soby’s, get your BBQ fix at Moohogz or Lewis, endulge the sweet tooth at Kilwin’s and Carmella’s, finishing with coffee at Spill the Beans or Coffee Underground.  For a true celebration you can go to North Hampton Wine + Dine or Bricktops.  A more laid-back meal might be found at Grill Marks, Ink & Ivy, or Sulley’s Steamers.  Persian at Pomegranate, French at Passerelle, Greektown Grille (guess what they serve?), and Trattoria Giorgia for Italian.   A wonderful date night could include a hands-on cooking class at the Cook Station or touring multiple restaurants with a Foothills Foodie Tour.

Now grab that special someone, whether it’s the love of your life or a sister you haven’t had enough time with or that BFF that you need to catch up with, Greenville has so many options of ways to connect!

While the English Gardens at Pettigru aren’t condusive to playing football you can certainly enjoy the beauty of nature, relax in our luxurious beds (and tubs), and endulge in multi-course breakfast & unlimited chocolate chip cookies.  We have maps and suggestions to help make this a trip you won’t soon forget, no matter what you come to town for.
